Currently, the standard design for most vessels involves solar panels covering the roof of the ship and storing the energy in lithium-ion batteries below-deck.
The client wants the boat to travel at faster speeds and for an extended amount of time. Current design and configuration of the panel array and battery storage system constrains the amount of power available. Potential solutions to the problem might involve the construction of a different electrical systems architecture that can hold more energy and draw more power given panel and battery cost constraints.
